Shannon College of Hotel Management was founded in 1951 by Dr Brendan O'Regan (Irish Businessman) and is the country’s only dedicated hotel management college. Shannon College is based in Shannon International Airport, County Clare and offers two Level 8 Business degrees, five postgraduate programmes, and a range of executive education and short programmes.
Affiliated with the University of Galway, Ireland’s third-best university (QS 2023), Shannon College of Hotel Management is known for its long-standing relationship with the industry and hotel partners from across the globe, offering incredible opportunities to its graduates. Shannon’s graduates are recognised by the Institute of Hospitality (IoH), the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, and the Irish Hospitality Institute.
Shannon College of Hotel Management is one of Europe’s most famous centres of hotel management education among international students. From orientation to graduation, the college committee and student body aim to promote, maintain, and support equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
As a student, you will get multiple opportunities to showcase your talents on campus. International students can also avail multiple scholarship opportunities for several programmes offered by the college, including Bachelor of Business Studies in International Hotel Management, Bachelor of Commerce in International Hotel Management, and MSc in Business and Hospitality.
Accommodation for first-year students is located in Castle Gardens at Bunratty Village, a 10-15 minutes drive from the campus. Fully equipped with all the required amenities for comfortable living, each student house at the accommodation centre has three bedrooms — two ensuite rooms and one single room with an adjacent bathroom. If a private single room is unavailable, you will be allocated shared accommodation at a reduced cost through random selection.

Shannon is a beautiful town in the midwest region of Ireland. It is one of the country's newest and most well-planned cities, gaining rapid development in the 1990s. Located about 220 km from the national capital Dublin on the bank of River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland, the town is known for its natural beauty and vibrant environment. With a population of about 10,000, the town is served by Shannon Airport, the third busiest in the country.
