Based on a world heritage site by the Bank of the Thames, the University of Greenwich has campuses in London and Kent, hosting around 35,000 students from over 130 countries.
The University of Greenwich is a leading modern public university. It offers a range of subjects across its four faculties: the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business School, Faculty of Education and Health and Faculty of Engineering and Science.
The University performed well in recent National Student Surveys, with Greenwich staff and its courses receiving high marks. The University also scores highly for student satisfaction, with Business Administration, English Language and English Language Teaching, Computer Security and Forensics, Computing with Games Development, Financial Mathematics, Midwifery, and Public Health excelling. Two of the University’s Diplomas of Higher Education courses in Children’s Nursing and Nursing Studies achieved 100% scores.
The University of Greenwich has won five Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education and is continuing to expand its campuses and facilities, with an ongoing £80 million investment over the last 5 years on teaching, sports and social facilities across its three campuses.
The University of Greenwich International Student Support Team can help students with any issues that may arise during their studies. This can cover visa renewals to adapt to UK culture. The University of Greenwich also organises orientation programmes to help international students settle into life on campus.
The University of Greenwich has performed strongly in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 results, showing significant improvement in its research quality and volume across all subject areas. The university was also awarded TEF Gold in 2023 and was voted the number one university in the UK 2023 by Student Crowd.
Accommodation is guaranteed for all first-year Greenwich students. Avery Hill and Medway accommodation are close to their respective campuses, while students at Greenwich will have either a 5 or 10-minute walk depending on which rooms are taken.
The University can also help find privately rented accommodation and guarantees that all new students will be offered a place to live, either in a hall of residence or in University of Greenwich-approved housing.
The University of Greenwich has three campuses: Avery Hill in southeast London and Greenwich and Medway in Kent. Greenwich is the largest campus and is situated on a World Heritage Site by the banks of the river Thames. Featuring buildings designed in the 17th Century, it is often regarded as one of the most beautiful campuses in the world.
The Medway Campus is based in a modernised Edwardian redbrick campus and houses the Schools of Engineering and Science. Like the Greenwich Campus, it has historic connections to the Navy, being located on the former shore base HMS Pembroke. The Avery Hill campus is situated in Eltham, surrounded by green fields but with easy access to the city.
